INTRODUCTION TO THE PROFESSION
Computer graphic designers dress up information to give it a look and a visual form. They are the stage directors of the information as they know how to handle the text and the images to formulate a clear and, most importantly, effective message. They are responsible for the artistic design and not just the implementation. They must know how to use their artistic sense for the benefit of the client and how to listen to and incorporate their requirements.
Most areas of graphic and image design involve infographics: advertising, design, architecture, publishing, cinema, etc. It affects all domains that have a need for graphic resources.
To provide future computer graphic designers with knowledge relating to graphic expression, to enable them to prioritize information to make it attractive and enjoyable to read and to integrate immediately into a professional environment thanks to a comprehensive understanding of professional software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and pre-press, photomontage and compositing techniques.

Students are required to work under professional conditions on different types of designs such as posters, reviews, logotypes, album covers, newspapers, advertising and editorials. They spend time producing a mock-up using graphic and textual content which may or
may not be supplied by the teachers. The future digital artists will learn how to supervise the making of a mock-up for final presentation to the client. General knowledge of the organisation of the graphics process is essential.
The layout, which requires specific training, provides students with an introduction to visual communication and typography. Advanced functions relating to the management and layout of a graphic charter are addressed using InDesign. The design and application of style sheets can result in powerful printed documents that are both attractive and clear.
In addition to text, images are also instrumental in creating an impact. They must be clear, attractive and complete. Through colour touch-ups, cropping and clipping with Photoshop, students learn how to enhance their digital images.
The calibration of articles and headings, and the placement of illustrations and pictures, also makes them consider colour management and typography, as well as all printing techniques (flexography, offset, digital, etc..), plotting processes, forwarding and finishing.
